They are incredible. There are several colour variations of flowers the plants can have too.

Oh I miss proteas, this is such a different version than South Africa has, can you tell me, do the plants also need to be burned in NZ to make the plant regenerate? In Africa it takes the heat of fire to make the seeds pop and spread and germinate.... Way cool photo, it looks like a soft cottony bed of sorts!

Hi Cyndie,

This protea has been growing at my parents place for years, so I guess they don't need to be burned off like in SA. They have a few of these plants there including pink, white and yellow flowers. I will have to get some more photos of them next time I visit.
