Amazing find...it's hard to find these "skeletal" leaves intact. Nice details and clarity.
Looks like a "Lace" leaf.
This leaf was on a trunk of a very old tree in a forest park not far from where I live. I was photographing something else when it caught my eye. I lucky find I guess.
It does look a bit lacy Chad, but I didn't want to disturb it to find out. It was being delicately held there by a spider web.

You sound like myself when I am not actually trying to shoot a particular thing I catch something by chance or luck as you put it. I love this one. All of your colors are so vibrant even the color in this tree's trunk. I am impressed by this FIND.
